Swordfish
Good movie with a great message. This isn't as much a hacker movie as it is a
techno thriller with a little politics thrown in for good measure. Then there's the
bank robbery that the movie starts off with, which has some great special effects
work and a great premise on how to treat hostages. Shortly after the robbery scene
you're treated to "4 days earlier" across the bottom of the screen. Normally I
hate movies that do this, but it worked out fine in this case.
Italian Job
The Italian Job is a remake of a 1969 film starring Michael Caine. There's a
certain sense of style in this movie that reminds me a bit of Ocean’s Eleven,
although this cast isn't quite as large in either name or number. All of the
characters have cool nicknames, histories and are very good at their individual
jobs. And the actors seem to have a lot of fun with these roles and do a good job.
Untraceable
For me, Untraceable had proud goals that ended shortly after the opening credits scrolled across the screen. Die hard torture lovers may get a quick thrill but I suspect they’ll grow weary from the lack of follow-through.
Pirates of the Silicon Valley
The movie is great. It revealed the real life of the two of the most respected persons in terms of information technology. It tells how they innovate, build and change how to live life with their innovations.
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Reviews
Just looks incredible. Looks like a great cast and a cool and edgy film. I haven't seen the Swedish film or read the novel. But because of this. I just might start reading and watching this summer.
Takedown
Great movie for computer geeks. This profiles a story of one of the greatest hackers on earth and how he operated. Although the book was better, this is certainly a "must see" for anyone involved in computer networks and/or system administration.
